WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE BELIEVE
When I was just a child - not old enough to know that when my grandfather - Conrad Theodore Herrmann - sat my brother and me down with a couple sticks of wood, a saw, a hammer and some nails, I wasn't just making an 'airplane' to play with; I was taking the first steps toward a lifelong journey of personal and creative development. Those early steps of nailing two boards together led to making other things - a treehouse, a napkin holder, a table . . . As those skills grew and developed, I was not only able to maintain/improve my own home but also create special pieces that can't be found anywhere else in the world. Now, I would like to share that passion with you. Every piece we create is special, and we hope that each will be treasured and passed down. Our bespoke CONRAD THEODORE furniture is created with man-made and unique natural materials, each with their own character, and crafted one at a time, knowing that Conrad Theodore is there, somewhere, supervising.
THE PROCESS
You will notice that we don't have an "add to cart" option at Conrad Theodore. We know that our place in the world is not providing quick-delivery, factory-made commodity products. There is a place for that, undeniably, but the products and services we offer are designed just for you and are hand-built. The process begins with a relationship between us and you where we make the time to listen and for you to share and to discuss your objectives and ideas. What are the styles that call to you? Did you see something in an exhibit, or in someone else's home that left an impression? Do you have a quirky little alcove in your home that you just can't seem to find the right piece for? Let's talk about your ideas and collaborate to create something that is truly meaningful to you. Once a concept is defined, we'll finalize the design and formulate a plan before we hand-select the materials and produce and deliver your treasure.
THE PRODUCT
Your "product" is what you imagine it to be... a coffee table, a nightstand, or a built-in cabinet or shelving system. The only commonality between our finished products is that they are one-of-a-kind and delivered only when we are confident your CONRAD THEODORE furniture will exceed your every expectation. We hope that these custom pieces will provide a lifetime of appreciation and joy. However, 0ur "product" extends beyond simply the tangible items we deliver - our real value is the creative process and the resulting relationship that is built in parallel with the artifact. We know you can buy furniture anywhere - what we truly hope for is that at the end of the journey, you are happier that you own a CONRAD THEODORE piece of furniture.
